The three pre-fabricated cabins manufactured in Brisbane were delivered to one of the most serene places in the Granite Belt.
The project had already commenced and the team at MTID were brought on board to complete the project. Working with tiles that had already been selected and floor plans already approved, the team tweaked and enhanced the selections and layouts to increase guest comfort levels whilst providing operational and maintenance efficiencies, necessary for a commercial venture.
Cabin 1 is a two-bedroom + two-bathroom cabin with living area, kitchenette and not one but two decks. One deck overlooks a neighbouring vineyard and had been fondly dubbed the sunset deck during the teams time on site. The team created a relaxed and rustic interior aesthetic with moments of texture and earthy tones throughout.
Cabin 2 also a two-bedroom two-bathroom cabin, has a very different aesthetic. With whitewashed ply ceilings and wallpanels in the main living area, this cabin would be at home in any Scandanavian back drop. A soft calm interior aesthetic allows the Severn river and the grassy fields around be the hero. Dual decks provide the perfect locations for a cup of tea and a book or a lovely bottle of local wine enjoyed whilst the sun sets.
Cabin 3 is a little different as it is a timber framed one bedroom one bathroom cabin with a combined open plan kitchenette, living and dining area. The soothing green interior features VJ walls and ceiling provides a touch of country comfort, complimented by more earth tones and subtle layers of textures.
MTID also designed a simple yet stunning solid Blackbutt timber storage unit for the bedrooms. These pieces serve as a wardrobe, luggage rack, clothes rack, iron and ironing board storage and were expertly manufactured by a Brisbane based furniture manufacturer.
